Little by little we are getting closer and closer to the end of this 2023 and the Pixel yearbook, now in its third edition, could not help but summarize what this year’s activity has been. Of course, it is only a brief and absolutely non-exhaustive summary of the photographers who give their contribution within the group on a daily basis.

PIXEL PHOTO MAGAZINE – YEARBOOK 2023

The Testimonies

Whether they are simple amateurs or professional photographers, they all leave a trace of their lives with great modesty; a piece of himself as testimony to stories stolen from the time. Moments of what can be summarized as “moments of extraordinary madness” in the daily life of each of us. The unfolding of things, the situations that are created, the moods, the scents.

We often experience these situations superficially but when we look at them through a lens, then they take on another meaning. And this is how situations become crazy and the gaze of a subject becomes extraordinary, the colors of a sunset captivate us and the smell of food cooked on the street takes us back in time.

Extraordinary

Everything becomes extraordinarily beautiful and takes shape in what could be considered a moment of alienation from the social norms that we are used to living.

I believe, and it is just my thought, that the photographer in most situations acts by instinct. This modus operandi leads him to put aside what may be the rationality of thought, helping him to abandon institutional canons and placing him on a higher level: that state of “truth” which is contained in the moment of the shot.

It is precisely on that level that we gather the “moments of extraordinary madness”.
